Muscular spine pain can be caused by a variety of factors, including
Overuse: frequent and repetitive movements, especially during physically strenuous activities, can lead to muscle strain and pain.
Poor posture: Incorrect postures when sitting, standing or lifting heavy objects can strain the muscles around the spine and lead to discomfort.
Muscle imbalances: Imbalances in the muscles, particularly between the abdominal and back muscles, can lead to excessive strain and pain.
Injuries: Injuries, such as strains or torn muscle fibres, can lead to acute muscular spinal problems.
The symptoms of muscular spinal complaints can vary, but the most common signs include
Pain: Localised or radiating pain in the area of the spine, which can be aggravated by movement
Muscle tension: Tension in the back muscles, which can lead to limited mobility and stiffness
Pain during certain movements: Pain when bending, lifting, twisting or other movements that put strain on the spine.
Pain at rest: pain that can also occur during periods of rest, especially after prolonged sitting or lying down
