Prof Dr Gollwitzer is a specialist in the implantation of hip prostheses and knee prostheses, as well as the entire spectrum of modern joint-preserving hip surgery.

His surgical activities focus on minimally invasive and muscle-sparing hip endoprosthetics (AMIS method), individualised partial and total knee joint replacement and hip joint arthroscopy (endoscopy of the hip).

Prof Dr Gollwitzer also has extensive experience in complex endoprosthetics for dysplasia and malalignment, deformity correction and the treatment of loose endoprostheses thanks to his many years of work at the University Hospital.

Prof Dr Gollwitzer is Head Physician for Hip Surgery and Knee Endoprosthetics at the ATOS Clinic Munich and Head Physician for Hip Surgery at the Dr Lubos Clinic – Bogenhausen.

With well over 500 publications and lectures as well as his regular work as a tutor at surgical courses, Prof Dr Hans Gollwitzer is in demand both nationally and internationally as an excellent clinician and lecturer. Due to his outstanding experience in the field of minimally invasive hip replacement, Prof Gollwitzer was the only representative from Germany to be appointed to the AMIS International Education Board. This board is made up of a total of 10 renowned hip specialists worldwide and coordinates the training and further education of surgeons in the field of implanting hip prostheses using the minimally invasive AMIS technique.
