The knee joint is a complex marvel of our body. The interplay between the kneecap, meniscus, ligaments, muscles, capsules and tendons enables a high level of resilience and mobility. If this complex interplay is disrupted by degenerative diseases, incorrect loading or accidents, good advice is required.
The knee experts at ECOM® specialise in the treatment of all types of knee problems and are renowned nationally and internationally.
Pain in the hip and groin region is one of the most common complaints among athletes. Early, targeted diagnosis and gentle treatment can prevent chronification and permanent damage. In the case of hip joint disease, hip surgery today offers modern
Our feet carry us through life every day. Nevertheless, congenital foot misalignments are often not given the importance they deserve. It is not uncommon for such foot misalignment and the associated change in static load conditions to be the cause of persistent complaints in the joints of the legs and especially in the back.
A professional foot and gait analysis, MRI, ultrasound and measurement by the specialist quickly reveal such imbalances and enable the production of customised high-tech insoles and shoe corrections that alleviate the symptoms very quickly and effectively.
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body. As a ball-and-socket joint that is largely stabilised by muscles and tendons, it allows a wide range of movement. However, this also makes the shoulder susceptible to injuries and wear and tear.
Back pain is the number one widespread disease, with around 80% of all people suffering from pain, paralysis or restricted mobility at least once in their lives, which leads to strain in everyday life, work and leisure.
The good news is: Back surgery is not always necessary. Where possible, we treat you conservatively with a combination of injection therapy, regenerative medicine and physiotherapy.
There’s no doubt about it: sport is healthy. Physical activity increases well-being and strengthens the body. Nevertheless, injuries and overuse injuries can occur when practising sport. The treatment of acute sports injuries and specific problems of athletes is one of the focal points of the extensive range of treatments offered by ECOM®.
With more than 25 years of experience in the care and treatment of top national and international athletes, we stand for high-performance medicine that treats amateur, recreational and top athletes alike. Always with the aim of enabling rapid regeneration and maintaining fitness for sport.
Whenever possible, we use the latest minimally invasive technologies for the surgical treatment of joint diseases and injuries. Using arthroscopic surgery, also known as keyhole surgery, we perform highly specialised operations on all large joints, particularly the knee, hip, shoulder and ankle. A major advantage of this technique is that tissue and joints are spared.
This results in less post-operative pain, rapid mobilisation of the patient, unproblematic wound healing and a short inpatient stay.
The replacement of a damaged joint with a prosthesis falls under the term ‘arthroplasty’ – this offers many possibilities in the field of artificial joint replacement. This makes it possible to gently and successfully replace joints affected by osteoarthritis. In this way, affected patients regain their activity and an improved quality of life.
Prof. Dr Gollwitzer and Prof. Dr Weber are renowned physicians with many years of experience in individual and customised knee joint replacement as well as minimally invasive and muscle-sparing hip joint replacement (AMIS). As a specialist in foot surgery and ankle endoprosthetics, Prof. Dr Harrasser is in great demand as a recognised clinician and scientist.
